Amélie
It’s been a minute since I’ve seen this in full, and I think after re-watching it, I can safely continue referring to this as my favorite film. There’s definitely flaws in it, but there’s just an undeniable magnetism that this movie has towards me. It reminds me of when I first discovered it in high school but not in a way where I look at this at as something from my past. I still have a real connection with this movie and I still really enjoy it. Part of that I think is because it is a movie made with such joy and love for life, but also with such honesty in portraying Amelie as a relatably introverted yet optimistic character. Not to mention this movie has such a wonderful look to it, a great sense of humor, an absolutely fantastic score and such a wonderfully loving view of the simple pleasures in life. I don’t think I’ll ever stop loving this movie.
