X

“Well, by the looks of everything, I'd say one goddamn fucked up horror picture.” * *This is peak horror. I was already the number one defender of this film but now I have cemented my place for eternity. Loved it even more on rewatch and especially after watching Pearl because it gives this film even more context which is just beautiful. X is a misunderstood masterpiece and there’s no other way to put it. Everything about this film is perfection from the opening shot to the closing shot it’s just absolute perfection in the way it is filmed. The camerawork is some of the best I have ever seen, for such a low budget this is how films should be made. The casting choices are just the best with so many likable, quotable characters. Every single one of them have their moments and I just fucking love it. Jenna Ortega will always be a scream queen just to remind everyone. Some of the dialogue in certain scenes is crazy especially the scene where Jenna says she wants to star in the film is just perfection. “Nobody's coming to see this film for the plot. They're coming to see tits and ass…..And a big dick.” ** **The film is also pretty scary for a slasher sort of flick. There are some very eerie moments that are aided by the incredible score of the film. The music and score is unbelievably suited to the film especially the music for the first kill is brilliant. Then the kills are just incredibly good, some of the best I have seen in any horror film. In love with this film. People need to respect it a lot more because y'all are lost. Arguably my favorite A24 film without a doubt.
