PrisonersGhostneon10.0· October 4, 2025FollowEvery time I watch this movie, I always end up finding more little hidden details and clues, that I hadn't yet noticed before. This movie is so incredible, and the only thing holding it back from being higher in my ranking would be the kidnapper's motive. It's generally explained that she and her husband chose to do what they did, in an attempt to rid family's or more specifically the parents of the children of their religious faith and views. It just seems slightly unrealistic in a movie that prides itself on its realism. I'd have preferred her to have no motive whatsoever; it would have added greatly to the mystery and slightly vague ending. I think the acting, cinematography, the plot, the script, just about everything was executed flawlessly. Specifically, I wanted to mention the script/improv throughout this movie, I think it's incredibly gritty, emotional, and down to earth. Honestly the movie for me is very comparable to David Fincher in that aspect, where everything just feels like regular people having conversations. I think this is an incredible movie and deserves every bit of praise. If you haven't yet seen this movie, you need to, regardless of the person. Everyone can relate and find meaning within this movie. (it's also very digestible and easy to understand on a surface level) (One last thing, I'm very glad to see that the 2013 shaky cam epidemic didn't affect all the movies lmfao)CommentsSign in to react and join the conversation.Sign inGet the appSee all Ghostneon's reviews for Prisoners (3)First watch10.0October 4, 2025Rewatch 110.0October 11, 2025Rewatch 210.0October 25, 2025
