Bugonia

If this movie does one single thing differently throughout, I really think it would’ve failed but Yorgos reverses any doubt as he captains this ship flawlessly. Every frame is beautiful, filled with tension, and skepticism leaving you questioning everything until the end. I think Emma Stone as at her peak confidence in her ability here as she leads the film but knows exactly which moments to bring the heat without ever overstepping. Jesse Plemons gives his career best performance hands down, he was stressed and anxious from the first frame to the last. I have to shout out Aidan Delbin as it shows Yorgos’ talent in casting to perfection. It’s a booming critique of society, capitalism, industry, and conspiracy and weaves it all in such commanding fashion that it’s never spoon fed but always entertaining and clear. The score is a cherry on top that compliments it all. A perfect movie on every level.
