watching this one on a plane with a whole heap of people wondering what movie could possibly be making this bloke cry and then it’s a fucking disney animated movie. but that’s what this movie does so well it just brings out some emotions from you that you really weren’t expecting from it.
de la cruz was a fantastic villain because for the most part we believe that he isn’t but he will save miguel. the symmetry of his death in the real world and his death in the after life was really beautiful. kinda crazy how mean spirited he was too like he could’ve just kicked miguel and hector out but instead he wants to try and kill them.
that mama coco scene was what really brought everything together like her whole life and especially childhood flashes before her eyes again and also showed us that no matter what happened hector was always her papa and nothing could change the way that she viewed him.
it was also cool how music which is often known for bringing people together is actually what has been keeping them apart for years, but finally when push came to shove they all managed to see the power it had over people and brought the family back together.
