Perfect Blue
yea after watching black swan i knew i had to watch this and im glad it met my expectations, although i dont like it as much as black swan personally, its still amazing and a must watch if you're trying to get into animated movies, aronofsky definitely rips off some of satoshi kon's imagery, but i was really surprised to see how different the films actually were, i thought it would be a rip off, but they're 2 relatively different films that i love for different reasons
the voice acting is great and i just feel like this is going to get even better on a rewatch, the eeriness of this movie, and going into this blind, there’s a certain scene that caught me completely off guard like when i saw it, i was trying not to look at the screen that shits disgusting, but i cant even say i will be revisiting this often, its not like a fun movie, it’s mentally exhausting, and really confusing, i think on a rewatch ill like it more because i wont be as confused, but i am NOT trying to rewatch this any time soon, a weird introduction into japanese animated films, but im glad i started with this because its an undeniable masterpiece
