Perfect Blue
i highly recommend anybody who's watched this once to give it another chance and watch it again, perfect blue was my first "big" animated japanese film i watched, and i don't know if it'll be like this for every one of them, but a rewatch really solidified this as a true masterpiece, and its better than black swan, which i still think is amazing, but this is just way better
it still confuses me, more than most films, but i feel like thats the point, and i didn't mind being confused as i was, you're supposed to feel as dizzy and frantic as mima does, i connected with it all way more, the way satoshi kon edits it all really makes my mind spiral, its so dense in its 1 hour 20 minute track length, but i definitely wouldn't mind rewatching this, it goes by so fast, but you can't help but get wrapped up in everything, and all the songs are great
my first watch it really was a lot to take in, it still is, but i managed to grasp a lot more of it, this is probably the best animated film ill ever see, im so glad i rewatched this, i picked up on a lot more details, i was just marveling at the gorgeous animation, i mean this is just a masterpiece, its one of the best psychological thrillers ever made, i understand it now, satoshi kon gone too soon man rip
