Possession
one of the most unique movies ive ever watched, i dont know why my roommate decided to join me midway but yea, he loved what he saw and i see why, this is definitely one of the most haunting movies ive ever watched, the sound design is so creepy and the atmosphere is so eerie, the camerawork is absolutely amazing, the close up and tracking shots man, holy fucking shit there were some scenes i genuinely could not watch, the movie is so ugly and distinct but the look of it matches the contents perfectly, literally flawless from a technical standpoint, gives me a kubrick-esque feel oddly enough
can we fucking talk about the performances, so fucking intense and visceral, but it works, i wish this wasn't my first sam neill film because then this would just seem out of character and surprising, but he gives an amazing performance, isabelle adjani (who lowkey looks like margaret qualley), gives one of the best and most memorable performances in cinematic history, the subway scene, probably the best acting ive seen in a single scene, i dont even know how a scene like that even gets constructed, people might say the performances are a little over the top, but i love them and i think it works all for the film and not against it
super unique movie was not expecting a beautifully crafted story heading into this, and was not expecting a creature either, its a lot to take in at first, the performances, the setting, just everything about it never leaves, i don't think i can give it a full 10/10 yet, a lot of people say this film demands a rewatch, and i see why, but my first watch i loved it and thought it was incredible, i do want to eventually check this out again to see where i stand on it, but most likely it's getting a 10, i don't see it getting worse, its memorable, it sticks with you, its already growing on me so, a rewatch would only solidify my opinion
one of the most unenjoyable, challenging, and disturbing fllms but i cant deny that last hour and a half flew by so fast and i was so immersed in the plot, every scene tops the previous one and it gets even crazier, definitely not a good time, but there are no wasted shots or anything, this movie flies by, you can really feel andrzej zulaswki and what he is going through whilst watching this film, the messiest yet best movie about divorce ive seen so far, i see why people don't like it, but i love it, i think its one of the best horror movies ever made, and an undeniable masterpiece
