Possession
i read somewhere that you need two watches of this to fully have an opinion on it, i was definitely taken aback with this the first time i saw it, having rewatched it i can now say this is one of the best horror movies ever made, its such a raw and visceral portrayal of a divorce, you feel everything the director is going through with this film, this is one of the best directed films ive ever seen, even if the story is a little rickety, i still feel everything going on, i cant say its FLAWLESS, its edited pretty weird, and idk if it was just me but sometimes the voices werent directly synced when they were talking, but everything is made up for when it gets going
it never gets boring, everything ends up topping the previous scene, it just progressively gets more crazy, it never slows down, it remains to disturb me, probably even more this time around, but i feel everything on such a personal level, the performances may seem overacted, but it just makes everything so much more impactful, isabelle adjani gives me chills with her performance, i teared up watching her, just one of the best performances of all time, that whole subway scene is one of the most powerful things ive ever seen, sam neill is great in this too, but shes another beast
the score and cinematography are so unique, it elevates this to a whole other level, the atmosphere feels so rich, it has this kubrick-esque feel to it, but dialed up a few notches, its unlike anything ive ever seen, this is a masterpiece, why are they remaking this, its a PERFECT 10/10
