Possession

This is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. The amazing acting from Isabelle Adjani & Sam Neil, the highly memorable scenes, the colours, aesthetics, camera work, atmosphere, music, style etc all blend perfectly together to create a masterful look at falling into madness among many other themes. I have no idea how I didn’t give this 5 stars on first watch as I seriously think everything here just works so well, the characters are great, the plot-line is interesting throughout and every minute is entertaining. Some scenes really do stick out as being particularly great, such as the subway scene (one of my fave scenes in any movie), the cafe scene, the fight scenes and so many more. Such a unique and stylistic movie with beautiful use of colours and camera. The whole first and last act are so enjoyable with a really great ending! Overall, this is a clear must-watch and is probably even going to now go into my top 4. An absolute masterpiece I can’t wait to rewatch again!
