Something Wild
In a movie jam packed with special details my favorite might still be the optical illusion when Ray is leaving the retail girl at that hotel when you can’t tell she’s holding the door open. It’s just such a cool little flair. This is also the movie with the greatest side parts ever made. Everyone who shows up in the frame feels like a whole character. And it all adds up to something that feels kaleidoscopically American.
