i cant look at you and not think of him man. i need a couple cigs, a beverage of 99% alcohol, cocaine pure as snow, a car, an empty freeway, and a dream to recover from this. this film is damn near perfect and i hate it.  waves is an incredible drama that demonstrates the importance and power of a loving hug.  many scenarios in the film  show how this simple action speaks volumes beyond language and reassurance as it’s the closest way in which two hearts can be held. my god even the poster i just realised now. a hug can mean anything the person makes of it, surpassing the need for words. it can comfort, it can remind, it can heal, it can cry, it can breathe life.  it can and will save a life, so don’t leave people short of one. the people and circumstances presented are phenomenally grounding as there’s complex angles where if you really care, you understand everyone’s thoughts. sure, you can pin blame, but you can also take the moment to understand why these things happen. what brings people to this point? why did they treat them like that? why are they scared of this? the film doesn’t present a two dimensional issue with generic distinction on familial matters, but rather gives you a deep dive onto the mundane or fun lives of these people. at the end of the day we’re all just human too.  he’s not a monster, he’s not evil, he’s just a human being.  i love the soundtrack in this movie. good god. i thought love jones was good this soundtrack is fricken fire. i damn near cried as each song perfectly captured the essence of the scene especially where we transition from the sincerity and tenderness of H.E.R’s focus into Tyler The Creator’s IFHY. great song choices  that convinced me this director is 27 max. some shots toward the start were a little nauseating to be honest but the rest is absolutely perfect. absolutely perfect i love the looo of this. the colour symbolism and lighting rlly connects.  oh my god.  yeah man i could write / talk abt this for ages, until i clocked that i’m so tired i re wrote the same sentence about 4 times. so pls just know i absolutely adored this and highly recommend for anything / anyone.  cast is phenomenal. i lvoe everyone in this. everyone is so talented and all play with great emotional / physical availability. it’s the greatest  yeah anyways been typing with eyes closed but i absolutely adore this movie and WILL be readjusting my top 4
