Arrival

if you could see every moment of your life, and even know how it ends, would you change it? arrival asks this question, and in my case i’d say yes. where i am now, i am very happy. maybe i don’t Really want to be in cleveland for the summer, but i get to do what i love on a regular basis.  looking back on my old review i see something that has stayed true, and it is i think about arrival on a semi regular basis. that’s what really matters to me when thinking about what distinguishes a 5 and a 4.5.  just such an amazing way to do a sci fi movie with little to no action. it’s also maybe the most realistic way of doing an alien “invasion”. the heptopods never really invaded, they just came and they saw.  amy adams was Robbed of a nomination, and honestly even a win. i’ll have to go check and see who won/got nominated that year to confirm. yeah, shoutout enma stone in la la land, but this CLEARS it for me. dr. louise banks is just a more complicated character to me than mia. and with emma stone’s second win now i think everyone would be fien if she only had one. even though lily gladstone should have won, but that’s a case for another day.  anyway, beautiful movie, and if you have not seen it Please go watch it.
