Hereditary

Oh man I never realised how great of a movie this was. I guess watching it on my phone on a car journey was not the optimal way to experience this for the first time. Well I am convinced now, this is one of the greatest horror movies. Every one of Ari Asters films is about severe family trauma wtf happened to this man for him to do this. Another similarity between his three films that I have noticed is that they are all involve the main character being coerced by someone friendly who in fact has sinister intentions planned out for them. As well as a kafaesque sense that everything that is happeing is predetermined and out of their control. Ari Aster really teaching people to never trust anyone. His three films really feel like a thematic trilogy while also being very different.
