GoodFellas

Okay okay… I love this movie, I really do…… but Casino is better. My favorite film hot take. I hear people critique goodfellas saying that the characters have no depth and I don’t disagree. But that’s not really the point of the film. It offers a story not about the characters. I’ve seen an interview with Quinton Tarantino where he says that foreign films focus more on character aspects of film while American films dominated the story aspect. That is not to say that American films don’t have great characters, it’s just that the story is usually the larger focus, this is especially the case in goodfellas.
