Batman Begins

This movie rocks, I like the gritty ground in reality element but this one also leans into the fantastical elements of Batman as well and it blends perfectly. Bale and Neeson are phenomenal and Murphy is great the rest of the cast is all good including Katie Holmes who I think is better in this than people give her credit for. The setting of Gotham in this one really works for me too I love the somewhat futuristic look we get in the scene where his parents are killed and then see what it’s become. The equipment and costume all feels realistic enough while also being incredibly cool. It’s such an important film for Batman and for the superhero/fantastical films that got turned into gritty reboots that are grounded in reality. I think Nolan’s direction is masterful while I think it’s sometimes overedited his vision for Batman and Gotham is so clear and it b feels so true to the viewer. I also miss when Batman was funny the next two entries really get away from the humor but I think the one liners in this one really work for its tone. Overall it’s always gonna get overlooked by the dark knight but Batman begins is really on par and is a super important movie. Batman begins will never not be a great and heroic ride, a legend.
