I’ve been a fan of Isabel Wilkerson since about 2021 when I first read caste. I was introduced to the book by my mom and ever since my first read it’s changed my perspective forever as a black man in America. I was excited to see a biopic showing Wilkersons creative process on creating the book to get further insight and I was not disappointed. The film does a great job of informing viewers with no context of the Wilkerson’s book about caste annd its ideas while also giving new insight and much more personal context to Wilkerson’s creative process. This movie has reignited my infatuation with this Wilkerson’s book and I’ll be pausing my reading Baldwin to reread Caste. This is an informative and perspective shifting film everyone should watch at least once.
