Obsession

Second best performance I've seen maybe ever. When I heard that Navarrete's performance was being mentioned alongside the likes of Isabelle Adjani in Possession I thought there was no way on earth it was that good, but it just was. Navarrete was the film. I do not mean that in a bad way it is obviously Bakers intent. From her movements to her ability to shift from one directive to another in a heartbeat is just amazing. Having this as your theatrical debut is just insane. Not to mention the low budget. The beauty of this film is also what makes it so hard to rate. Its simplicity is astounding. Baker did so amazing. It's very straight forward and you know where it's going and for the most part what is going to happen, but it still rocks. This is in the range of 4.25 to 4.75. It's better than most 4s, but not on par with most 5s. A 4.5 feels wrong tho. Surly a rewatch will solidify my feelings.
