Phantom Thread

Let me start by saying that I think technically and from a filmmaking standpoint, this might be a 5/5 and I can see it getting there in due time. Delicate, intricate, romantic, funny, sad. Literally name an emotion and it is portrayed. Just gotta get the DDL shit outa the way because my god is he so fucking brilliant. Method acting works. This film is so intimate you genuinely feel you are in the room in every scene. Stunning visuals and stupidly memzmorizing set pieces. A fight for position between an obsessed professional and a woman who just wants to be needed. PTA is so sharp in the details and can make the fuck out of a movie. Most shots are drool worthy and the use of elegancy is perfection. Im a sucker for a good romance and this is just that with 10x the depth. Satirical throughout the runtime but doesnt forget to punch you in the gut. Id say its probably my favorite PTA at the moment but  Magnolia needs a rewatch to make that call and my god I have to watch There Will Be Blood. Really marvelous shit here. ~I feel as though i’ve been looking for you my whole life….  You found me~
