Sinners

All I could say is… wtf? This movie completely blew my already very high expectations. I regret putting off watching this for so long, but then again I got to watch this with my homies so it was such a fun experience. I loved everything about this movie, except maybe the end credits scenes which I think wasn’t really necessary. The buildup in the first half was amazing, but it truly went from an 8 to a solid 10 once the horror elements finally kicks in. My friends and I were absolutely at the edge of our seats throughout the whole second half of the movie. Putting a friend who knows NOTHING on to this film is a must try, as I get to see them get shocked that it suddenly turned into a horror film. The songs here were also so good and chilling, and they had absolute amazing visuals. The “I Lied To You” dance scene deserves an Oscar on its own. Super well-written plot that dives into certain topics nicely, and the aspect ratio changes were just STRAIGHT GAS. I got chills when they started chanting the prayer, the ending was just fire. Anyways this was an absolute masterpiece and spectacular watch, Ryan Coogler really cooked with Sinners. I know understand all the hype, and could see how this is the most Oscar nominated film of all time.
