Finding Nemo
Not only is this one of the best Pixar films, it’s one of the best movies of all time. Words can’t describe how much I love this. This is one of the first movies I can actually remember watching and even now as a 25 year old I am unable to look away whenever it’s on. Finding Nemo is not only an incredibly fun animated adventure but it’s also moving, heartfelt and super intense even for a “kids” movie. That intro with the eel ( I think it an Eel?😅) makes me white knuckle every time lol and there are just countless moments that are just so hard to watch because of whats on the line, there feels like such a weight to the story. The stakes are incredibly high and the film never forgets that, even when it’s being a silly animated comedy about fish. But that said this thing is genuinely so funny, the amount of great jokes they manage to land is insane. I feel like I could say this about a lot of Pixar films but this has got to be one of its funniest. One of the best examples that animated films can cater to both kids and adults.
Watching this you could easily forget this came out in 2003, because holy shit this thing is beautiful, they really went all out in every aspect of the animation, it looks better than a lot of animated movies we get today in 2026. It’s pretty hard to nail down my favourite part about this because there are just that many and I find it hard to even find a flaw if I’m honest and you could say that this is all nostalgia but I really don’t think so because, yes this film does mean a lot to me, but I would say I enjoy it even more now than I did when I was a kid just because of how well made it is, it’s paced perfectly, it looks AMAZING, it’s hilarious and more importantly it’s telling a great story that could only be told like this through animation, it’s perfect. A masterpiece.
