Memento
Day 2 of Nolan a day till the odyssey
Memento is probably Nolan’s most complex film of his entire filmography the way it flips from linear to non linear but done in such a perfect way with using colour and using black and white, I think that uniqueness is what makes this special.
The plot is absolutely perfection about a man that can’t form new memories trying to get revenge on the person that killed his wife by tattooing notes on his body. I love the way the plot connects and you start connecting the pieces unraveling the truth almost in sync with Leonard the protagonist.
I think the performance from Guy Pearce is phenomenal even though he doesn’t seem to think so but it genuinely is magnificent acting and also from the other cast members such as Carrie-Anne Moss and Joe Pantoliano who give such good compelling performances.
The twist also work. The entire final act is just perfection and the twists are what make it absolutely phenomenal and worth watching I love how sound design and soundtrack is used to build the tension is just crazy.
This might be one of the greatest thrillers ever.
Nolan is phenomenal.
