ChallengersKrissy 9.9· April 25, 2024FollowIMAX wasn’t enough I need to be the tennis ball *SPOILERS* some small details I don’t want to forget- hotel scene at the beginning when tashi mentions to art about basically being nothing without tennis and you can SEE the anger & pain in his eyes & the snap of his neck. Immediately establishes their marital issues in one look- as an adult in the hotel, art’s feet are all banged up from playing. In the flashback, art is picking at the skin in the same area — but his feet hadn’t weathered as many years of (professional) tennis yet (such a smart way to show the affects of tennis on his body)- tashi (to me) was initially attracted most to art — she tells him he can and SHOULD beat patrick, sees potential in him & likes that he’s malleable - but also drawn to Patrick’s brashness- Patrick’s close proximity to everyone, while art is restrained- clothing and props: tashi’s quiet luxury in her clothing, lotions, etc. Art’s perfection & wanting to keep up appearances - preppy clothes as an adult, clean cut hair. Patrick wearing old, ill fitting shorts.- tashi’s scream when she “won the match” again bc that girl didddddd win in the end- “we went somewhere really beautiful together” is really poignant when looking at the final sceneCommentsSign in to react and join the conversation.Sign inGet the appSee all Krissy's reviews for Challengers (3)First watch9.9April 25, 2024Rewatch 19.9May 5, 2024Rewatch 29.9July 9, 2025
