Alien

Part I of my Alien trilogy marathon What is there to say about Alien that hasn’t already been said. It has such a memorable way of building atmosphere and tension like no other sci-fi film, using intricately constructed sound design, the haunting ambience of the score, visceral cinematography and a meticulously steady pace, crafting such a vivid feeling of dread and horror.  Everything about this film is Iconic. The spectacular set design and the masterful score by Jerry Goldsmith, featuring without a doubt the most iconic alien design of all time and an iconic performance from Sigourney Weaver.  One of my favourite films of all time, one of the best sci-fi films of all time and one of the top few alien films of all time.
