Django Unchained
Django has always been one of my favourite movies, this is the second or third time I’ve seen Django and this rewatch did not disappoint. This western delivers some of the best scenes I have ever seen and there are so many badass scenes in this movie and for me this is Tarantino at his best. The writing is great and I really love the dynamic between Django and Dr. King Schultz. I love Christoph Waltz as an actor, just the way he talks and moves make him so convincing. And Jamie Foxx is also excellent. The story gets you hooked instantly with the first few minutes and after that you are rooting for Django like you know him personally. The cinematography paired with the songs chosen in this film makes for a superb watch. This film is all about slavery and racism and like Inglorious Basterds, Tarantino gives is the satisfaction of brutal justice.
Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel L. Jackson are outstanding in their roles but they do not compare to the genius acting of Quentin Tarantino. That may have well been the greatest acting performance I have ever seen. His Australian accent is something I have never seen before and just the way he moves and talks is something extraordinary. All jokes aside I am a very big fan of this film and I will definitely be watching it again sometime.
