Loki
⏰ Season 1: While the first two MCU series can't be called bad, this one comes close to being amazing. Except for Loki’s second season, this is absolutely my favorite of them all!
The story was a great continuation of Loki's adventures and an awesome introduction to everything that the TVA has to offer while also explaining a bit more about the multiverse. If there had not been some legal issues with Jonathan Majors, this could have set up Kang in an equally amazing way as Thanos! Tom Hiddleston has only gotten better at being Loki, and it is clearly visible that he wants this to be good.
Sophia Di Martino is awesome as Sylvie, and after a couple of episodes, Wunmi Mosaku’s Hunter B-15 also grew on me! When it was announced that Owen Wilson was going to play Mobius, I was really skeptical about that. However, from the first scene he was in, my fears were proven wrong because he truly was the best choice for this!
The inclusion of Miss Minutes was really fun as well and proves that live action and animation can work very well together; the voice acting by Tara Strong helped to bring her to life! As I said before, it is a real shame that there were some problems with Majors because his fantastic performance as Kang here proves that he would have been an amazing villain for the multiverse saga.
The Loki variants they added were also fantastic, and while they made for some funny moments, they also brought in many emotional scenes to further develop the story of the Loki we know. The action scenes are good as well, although maybe not as spectacular as what we are used to; however, the final moments with He Who Remains at the end of time and the battle of the Lokis were so good that I can forgive everything else! Additionally, the office-like TVA parts we see in between, such as an employee having a drawer full of Infinity Stones, worked very well for me!
In conclusion, I can say nothing else but that this is a sublime show, and the only reason I won’t give it five stars is that season two somehow managed to top this! 🐊
