Scream 3
[.5 increase] — rewatching this movie, i realized just how much i actually do love it, and i hate to see this film be the most underrated in the franchise by far. it’s the most unique film in the scream lineup for many reasons, and the new elements it brought were super cool and entertaining.
i know the logistics of the voice changer throws a lot of people off, but i think that it was pretty interesting and raised the stakes quite a lot. never knowing if the call was genuine or not — falling right into roman’s little trap, perfection. another thing i enjoyed quite a lot was the mix of real people and the actors portraying them for stab 3. jennifer specifically was the best thing to come out of that. she was super funny, had amazing lines, and her playing gale was an excellent executive decision. her little ‘rivalry’ with gale only to have it snuffed out as the two are forced to work together, loved it. she’s definitely one of the best things about this movie along with roman. despite him being someone barely even in the movie, roman still remains one of my favorite ghostface killers because he just.. is. his motive was interesting, and like i said before, he brought a lot to the table with the voice changer. i’ll always be on his side because i feel for him more than i do any other killer. moving on, the gale and dewey ring scene always makes me smile, and gets my feels going. i love them together, even if they are incredibly different people. sidney was a total badass during this movie, especially during that final act fight — she came prepared, and was not about to go down easy. that’s my girl. oh fuck, and they got patrick dempsey fine ass in this shit, on my knees right now.
all in all, scream 3 is a critically underrated film in the franchise, and i hate to see it labeled as the majority’s least favorite. it has some amazing scenes such as the house blowing up, the sidney on set chase, and the entire final act as a whole (probably one of the best out of them all), etc. i will always love this movie, and never will i ever understand the lack of love it receives.
