Nowhere

Absolutely bat shit insane, absolutely strange, absolutely disgusting, absolutely horny, absolutely fun. Everything and nothing, it’s Nowhere. I couldn’t even tell you what this is about exactly. Like I there was so many moments while watching where I just kept going “what the fuck” with my jaw on the ground. And you know what, I think I loved it? Had a ton of fun, and the more I sit with it the more I actually feel like this is a genius masterpiece. Love love love the whole style of this, all the colors and the strange editing and the gorgeous sets and the wacky outfits. As the Gregg Araki trilogy claims, it 100% looks like a teenage apocalypse in the best way possible.  Also love Araki’s love for shoegaze and dreampop music, I don’t see many other directors using music like this, but it 100% fits his films and the weird mystifying quality they all have.  Wish I had more intelligent thoughts on this instead of just throwing up a bunch of words that basically just say I thought it was cool, but I feel like that fits the overall vibe of Nowhere too so it’s fine.  Gotta watch more Gregg Araki films. Gotta watch this again soon.
