**May 29 2026 151/365 ** Gerry: [softly] How do you think the hike's going so far? [pause] Gerry: [softly] Pretty good. [pause] Gerry: [softly] I'm leaving. holy crap. So much nothing. I hate slow boring films but for some reason this is so captivating. Similar to elephant it is basically just two characters walking for the whole film with very little dialogue. The shots were so incredible and make you feel similar to them needing the same patience to get through. The fact they were so close to the road in the end is so heartbreaking. Also the fact it is based on a real occurrence makes the death so much sadder. He really had to do it to stop his friend suffering but they were only so far from safety.
