Nosferatu

second watch has really solidified this for me (and there will be a third soon). i find myself in love with the world robert eggers builds this film is so atmospheric and with both watches i just don’t want the film to end so i can stay in this world.  this version of nosferatu is about ellen and this is ellen’s story, the arc of coming to terms with her desire and no longer feeling the shame as well as sacrificing herself as an act of her pure love for thomas.  this film is also technically astounding, so many shots just look like they come straight from a painting, this is what i believe to be eggers best looking film, and the score is so good the final scene is just heart pounding.
