it’s hard to talk about your feelings or are there even the words you can use to describe them. sometimes you can’t communicate with words and the only way is through art. trier is able to write such compelling characters, there is not a moment of the runtime that drags for this effortlessly captivating film. renate reinsve and elle fanning are expectedly stunning, inga ibsdotter lilleaas is such a standout as i was unfamiliar with her, and of course stellan skarasgård is amazing as he always is; one of the best ever.  something i need to watch again because there is so much baked into this, and i can’t wait to watch it again. hopefully it continues to expand wider bc this is a special film
