The Lighthouse

a movie packed to the brim with complex themes and heavy symbolism that is a lot take it. the decent into madness portrayed by dafoe and pattinson was excellent, pattinson is one of the best working actors today with such a deep bag.  the undertones of toxic masculinity, guilt, regret, and power dynamics were done so well. subtle hints and details to later events and great character work were the strength of this film which shouldn’t be shocking considering there are really only 2 characters. i also love the fact that robert pattinson’s character is supposed to be like prometheus bc i love greek mythology.
