“I am Paul Muad'Dib Atreides, Duke of Arrakis. The Hand of God be my witness I am the Voice from the Outer World, I will lead you to paradise”⭐️
Incomparable to any film of this decade and even ever. Incredible ; while coexisting with the first, this universe has become one so profound I question if the will be anything after it having this effect. Frank Herbert’s masterpiece of a book, translated into a film so picturesque it is questionable as to whether it is real. Having read the book I have a sky-rocketed appreciation of Villenueve’s direction. This film proves how crucial he is to “saving cinema.” A film so grand you can’t imagine any sequels after it. If you thought continuing the first was tough adaptation from the book is much harder. If I tried to compare to any film ever I would be awe-struck by the sheer beauty of Dune: part two. Even though I’ve expressed my immense appreciation of its predecessor, I never truly loved it; this, I do.I know it’s not perfect (until the universe is finished) but THE HYPE IS REAL.
Seeing this on opening night was truly amazing. A spectacle I will never forget, I will cherish it, just as I will with this film. The meritorious visuals mixed with the inspiring score made for unforgettable set pieces. There are truly so many things I can say, but I don’t know how to say it. Hans zimmer did it again, but what am I expecting, of course he did. My high expectations weren’t only hit but exceeded with flying colours. This truly is a ”cinema film.” Every character had meaning, something going for them. Stilgar played by javier bardem was great for a comedic tone. Chani was also a fascinating character for the reason of creating conflict in Paul’s character. His realisation of his being the “Mahdi” meaning messiah was truly remarkable. To completely understand this story you have to go back to Herbert’s inspiration from a prominent religion that I know so well. A story so great couldn’t have completely be made by a man. This delivers on every front.
As for the technical aspects everything was pretty much amazing. The characters were so fleshed out (especially the old ones) Paul’s relationship with the firemen was truly amazing to watch. the way the lore was written is so special. The writing itself was amazing. Pauls every line had a meaning to it and conveys the story one bit more. The dialogue from every character hit. Guerneys poetical devices were used perfectly. One particular fight scene with him as truly astonishing. The plot point from the first was also carried on. Just like his father’s legacy like Paul. Jessica ended up being very powerful and it made me hate her slightly. A certain twist did the job. It also made me pity her as to what she has to do get her son into power. Paul’s change of mind marks the beginning of the kwisatz haderach. The story of a messiah is one I wil always like to see interpretations of. It’s great to see how people interpret the one, original, unedited version. The pacing was much better than the first as it didn’t have the job of setting up these wonderful characters. When I saw gurney appear I was overjoyed. This film is so overwhelming, I suggest getting sleep on it (which is what I did). If you ever forget your love for cinema, watch this. Greatest of this decade. That fight scene at the end was SO PERFECT.watched opening night A+9.9/10
