JFK
man, 90s gays really loved kevin costner. the first time i saw this was one of the most insane experiences of my life. i've been thinking about it nonstop and finally was able to rewatch it. i didn't even realize gary oldman was lee harvey oswald until the last 20 minutes because i was so immersed and shocked to find out how accurate all the info is.
this is one of those movies where i would love to know how people who aren't american would react because this is such an aggressively american movie. growing up so close to where kennedy was killed, it was always accepted as fact there was something bigger to it but that isn't what jfk is about. the american dream has been replaced with american paranoia. there are no real answers and garrison's case isn't a strong one because there's just a giant cloud over the entire assassination especially when everyone had something to gain. even oliver stone said that should be the takeaway, strings are being pulled but we don't know by who. he doesn't justify garrison's case and denies him being a hero.
