Spider-Man
Holy shit I did not remember half of this film. I went to the cinema to go see this and it was so worth it and I can’t wait for next week. There’s a lot of stuff I didn’t remember, probably because I haven’t seen these movies in a few years. For example I had no idea how close they got to doing sexual violence to MJ. In the alley, they get to pinning her to the wall before Peter comes and I’m like Jesus. There’s a ton of dialogue I had no idea was in this. Again for example that in the burning fire scene where green goblin is pretending to be an innocent. I thought it was gonna be straight to fighting but no he actually says what about the offer thought about it. Which also when he gets sleep gassed I didn’t realise he was talking to him and saying we should work together think of the stuff we could accomplish. It’s like when was this even in this film. It’s not even extended it’s normal. I loved this though I felt like watching this in a cinema without rewatching just great and I can’t wait for the next one. I think there was intentional and sometimes unintentional funny moments. I forgot how good this was though. Overall so glad I watched this and I’m so excited for next weeks. I also thought Willem Dafoe was fantastic in this and his decent into madness after taking the serum is just it proves he’s great as an actor. Not to mention his best role in the lighthouse now that that is brilliant. I don’t think James Franco was very good in this but then again if that’s what he was supposed to be like for his character then he did a good job. Tobey Maguire isn’t my favourite Spiderman but he’s become my second after seeing this again after years. It’s iconic it’s great and sometimes it may seem a little cringey but he also does some great performances at points. Kirsten Dunst? Is good as Mary Jane I guess I mean she’s good but she’s nothing special at the moment. But I can’t wait to see the other films.
