The Wailing

Oh man. This movie blew away my expectations. At first, I thought this was going to be a zombie horror movie but boy was I wrong.  Outside of some few exceptions, my experiences with supernatural horror movies are a bit formulaic and limited to movies such as Insidious, The Conjuring, and Annabelle. This constant exposure over the years to those type of super natural horror films has built an expectation on how they go in terms of pace, plot, and storytelling.  Which I think for me being so accustomed to that formula, structure, and granted my own expectations didn’t make me the most receptive to this.  However, even with that being said this movie is great. I hope to revisit it in the future.
