Wicked
so so so much better with a second watch omg; prior to watching the first time, my knowledge was decent, however, i didn’t fully analyze all of the lore if that makes sense. this second watch allowed me to appreciate the subtle foreshadowing to what’s to come in part 2, as well as dwell in the politics of wicked. truly such an important story to tell in our current time. glinda’s “when are we going to talk about history instead of talking about the past” was such a silly line that becomes rather eerie when thinking about how real it is to today’s society.
all of that aside, i really do love it all; the singing, choreography, acting — i absolutely love it. both leading ladies truly just embody their roles so well that it’s evident they were MEANT to play those parts. their chemistry is so surreal, especially during that “it’s alright” at the ozdust ballroom and during defying gravity … god i’m a mess just thinking about both parts. also bowen yang and his what i’m assuming where improvised lines were truly iconic. “i don’t even see color” obsessed.
