Kill Bill: Vol. 2
Elle Driver: That's right. I killed your master. And now I'm gonna kill you too, with your own sword, no less, which in the very immediate future, will become... my sword.
The Bride: *Bitch, you don't have a future.*Absolute bliss!
Never understood why this one gets so much more hate - This part includes one of the best fight sequences in film, and also one of the most terrifyingly great scenes in the whole duology. While Part 1. is a love letter to Japanese Cinema this one is a love letter to Hong Kong / Cantonese Cinema, but also so much more. The ending is probably one my favorite endings ever and I do actually think Uma Thurman is even better, atleast more nuanced, and The Bride gets a lot more character development.
Not as stylized as the previous entry, but just as entertaining in my opinion, you can’t have the first one without the other, this is one continuous story just like the LOTR Trilogy or The Human Condition - and thinking about it like that makes it even better.
I love this one just as much as the first part and together they simply make the perfect movie that explores so many different shades of filmmaking and executes it brilliantly.
Overall,
Simply amazing, a masterpiece.
The cover art on Letterboxd looks pretty shit though ngl..
