Kill Bill: Vol. 2
*“That woman deserve here revenge… and we deserve to die.”*Very few can make you as invested in a scene where you already know the outcome like Quentin Tarantino. Like, we know Bill will massacre the chapel, The Bride will survive being buried alive, and Bill will ultimately die…yet the dialogue, action, and tone add so many layers that, no matter how many times you watch, you’re still gripped by the possibility that things might unfold differently. The tension Tarantino builds is legendary; no one else can make a simple conversation feel so electrifying (with the possible exception of Sergio Leone) and Kill Bill vol. 2 is the best example of this brilliance. Fuck me I love these movies so much, they’re feet down his best work to date.
Oh and being buried alive has been one of my biggest phobias since I saw this film 18 years ago.
