So frustrating. Obviously some really good stuff in here mired by horrendous pacing and incredibly low stakes. It shouldn’t be possible to be consistently bored in a 5 episode narrative, but this pulls it off. There’s a host of side characters the show really wants us to care about, but we only get to spend maybe 10-20 minutes with any of them when the show acts like we’ve gotten to know them over the course of a full length series. D’Onofrio is still incredibly dynamic and watchable, but it’s clear that the only hook this show has is teasing him out.  I really wanted to like this one, but it really feels like treading water, just reminding you that Kingpin exists so that they can use him better later. I’d like to see Maya return, but I can’t imagine why she would.
