Loki
On revisit, this is easily the best and most consistent of the shows. Season 2 is just as engaging and feels even more monumental in its finale than season 1, which supposedly set up the next big bad (though we’ll see if that pans out).
The exact type of show that they should have been making all along, in that it adds so much depth to the MCU without directly impacting any of the events of the films. You don’t have to watch it to understand anything else, but it provides closure for a character who otherwise would be sorely missed, if you want that. And if you do watch it, you realize that its implications are far wider than most of the movies, in a way that they never do have to acknowledge outside this show.
I’m really just impressed with how well they navigated this story, while maintaining the best visual aesthetic in MCU, maybe short of Werewolf by Night. Seriously, I love the color palette and set design of this world they’ve built, it’s such a joy to watch. What a shame that so many people tapped out by season 2 because I really think it’s among the Marvel’s best stuff.
