Parasite
I've just finished rewatching Parasite, but this time in its black and white version. Parasite in itself is a masterpiece, I'm sure I went on and on about it when it was released, but the black and white version adds a different sort of flair to the film.
The monochrome makes the film so much more sinister, as if it's one of those old monster films. The palette change doesn't affect much of the first half but does make the suspense of the second half more appealing. Action sequences in this black and white tone feel more horrific and terrifying. The moment when the "ghost" peeks out from the basement is even scarier in black and white. How dark and dingy our character's semi-basement is compared to the main house feels so much more contrasted too, further pushing the ideas of class and wealth.
The lack of colour also forces you to notice other details in the film. The film's soundtrack was something I didn't notice in my first few viewings but rewatching it like this makes me appreciate it more.
Other than that, it's still Parasite. Just Black and White. No changes to the story whatsoever. Still love it.
