The Wailing

Na Hong-jin masterfully crafted possibly one of the most spine-chilling and haunting horror movies of the century. Just unbelievable. Does a phenomenal job at keeping you on your toes and has such incredibly raw and heart pounding scenes where you almost forget to take a deep breath. So many special performances to choose from, but on rewatch I’m still blown away by Kim Hwan-hee’s child actor performance. One of the best I’ve ever seen from a child actor. The Wailing is often overshadowed on the international stage by more watched Korean movies for example from Directors Park and Bong. However, this is incredibly worth checking out. The 10 year long wait for his next feature film Hope is nearly over. I need it injected into my veins now.
