Anora
some people say this film feels empty but i don't think so. through the details and little things you can know anora and how the movie criticizes sex work (the industry itself).
most of the women who are sex workers don't have any choice and feel forced to continue doing this kind of "work" to survive.
this films reflects how men treat these women like toys. rich men pay to use them and it's a funny game for them.
anora sees vanya as her opportunity to exist that life but he uses her for fun and to escape from his parents because for him, anora is just a stupid and inferior person.
[SPOILERS] for me, one of the most impactful scenes is the last one. anora feels devastated and she uses sex as a shield to not seem vulnerable.
also, she mentioning continuingly that she was sure igor was going to rape her shows that she carries several traumas, probably because of situations she has faced due to her job.
sex work is not funny. it's a misogynist and abusive industry.
