as I constantly grow my knowledge for film and familiarity with technique and form, Michael Mann's films always age like fine wine. With the majority of action movies, its very easy to make a compelling main character that you somewhat care for, but with a Michael Mann film there's never a point where you don't care for the whole crew. Mann treats everyone on fair ground, 'good' or 'evil,' and that is not something I can say for most american filmmakers
