Parasite
wow. i finally see why this won best picture. to see an original story this multifaceted is so rare. bong joon ho is….. a visionary to say the least. constant suspense and stakes so high would never believe it. the way bong goes about displaying poverty in the 2010’s is perfect… one family can gain the smallest bit from rain… and another can lose everything.
i never expected the title to depict the film that well. the parallels between both husbands (the basement husband) as well is downright scary, and as we reach the climax of the film mr. kim cannot stand it anymore. he cant stand mr. park revolting at not only him but the basement husband as well. there isn't a story that depicts modern times better than this. bong joon ho had me at the end, thinking it was a happy ending, but no. mr kim became the very thing he revolted at. an unending cycle of human judgment from class to class.
the pure faith “kevin” has that he can fix everything, save his father, and finally live that dream. that fleeting moment when they were all together in a proper house. that tiny tiny spec of the “life”. absolutely speechless. truly a modern storytelling spectacle.
