RIP Lydia Tár, you would’ve loved Red Scare. A very big movie: confident, ambitious, and yet never feels the need to spell anything out for you. Almost immediately reminded me of the feeling of what movies ought to be. Birdman and Steve Jobs often came to mind. Deserves to be seen multiple times and parsed through more than I’m able to now, but it’ll be sticking with me for a while. Oh and I can’t imagine a better lead female performance showing up this year.
