Yi Yi
This is my first taiwanese film and first Edward yang film. I usually don’t write this much but yi yi is way different than any other film i watched. Yi Yi is a perfect film because it captures the quiet beauty and complexity of everyday life with remarkable honesty and compassion. Through the experiences of three generations of a family, Edward Yang reveals how love, regret, childhood curiosity, and the passage of time shape every person’s life in different but deeply connected ways. The film never relies on easy answers and instead it finds profound meaning in ordinary moments, allowing its characters to feel completely human. Its slow pacing, stunning cinematography, and subtle performances create an emotional depth that lingers long after the credits roll. Rather than telling viewers what to think, Yi Yi invites them to reflect on their own lives, making it a timeless masterpiece.Overall this is a 100/10 and everyone should watch this.
