Die Hard

10/10  First off, this is a Xmas film, it has Xmas music, is set at Xmas, is about saving people from terrorists on Xmas eve. CHRISTMAS. However I’m sure everybody can collectively agree that this is a super-entertaining, incredibly made action movie. It’s so full of that 80’s sauce, super creative original concept with lots of over the top action and violence. The acting performances are largely stellar, particularly Alan Rickman as Hans gruber, perhaps one of my faviroute villain roles from any film or piece of media ever, him being so flamboyant, intelligent and methodical makes for a super entertaining and interesting villain. Bruce Willis also does an incredible job, he was on such a roll in the late 80’s to early 90’s and this is just further proof of that. The film is also very rewarding to its viewer, numerous small plot points that attentive viewers will pick up on are brought back later in the film, sometimes to huge affect. Really respecting the intelligence of the viewer. The comedy is also great, so many memorable one liners in one 2 hour film. So many great jokes that catch you off guard in such a tense affair of a film. The use of practical effects is astonishing, given that they couldn’t fully utilise the means of CGI yet. The cinematography and music is also great aswell. The environment of this film is also incredible, Nakatomi plaza has got to be one of the most recognisable locations from any film ever. This is a technically sound, creatively brilliant and Uber-entertaining CHRISTMAS!/action film. I think just about anyone can enjoy and love this film  Superb
