there’s truly nothing like 90s Cronenberg being as unapologetically weird, horny and clinical as possible. Crash feels cold and sterile and yet so uncomfortably intimate: it’s erotic, disturbing, deeply awkward and kind of hilarious in that very Cronenberg way where everything’s serious but also not at all. i love how it commits completely to its own perverse logic—no explanations, no moral, just people doing objectively insane things with total sincerity. not sure i enjoyed it in a normal way but it got under my skin in that perfect gross beautiful Cronenberg way.
